Bruce Skipton Retains Supervisor Seat

Bruce Skipton, Turtle Lake Township Board Supervisor, retained his seat on the board for another three year term at the March 13, 2012 Elections. More information on the election and annual Township meeting can be found in the agenda and minutes section of this website.

2012 Turtle Lake Township Annual Picnic

Mark your calendars for Sunday, August 5th at 1 PM!! This year’s Turtle Lake Township Picnic will include lots of games for the kids, lots of prize opportunities for all, great food (we will supply the burgers and hot dogs, we would love you to bring a side dish or dessert to share). In addition, the Bemidji Fire Department will attend with their famous “smoke house”. We had about 90 folks attend last year and hope to see even more this year!!

Be Aware of Needed Footage for Firetruck Access!!

Bemidji Fire Chief, David Hoefer, attended our March 5th Township Meeting and wanted to remind all of our residents…that in order for his fire trucks to have access to homes and cabins…a clearance of 12 feet wide by 12 feet high is needed. Smaller driveways will present problems with access by the large fire trucks. For more information please contact the Bemidji Fire Department.

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY FROM SNOW PLOWING ACTIVITIES

Turtle Lake Township wants residents to know that while efforts are made not to damage property in the process of plowing and removing snow, sometimes it will occur to mailboxes or other items put up near the road. Turtle Lake Township is not responsible and will not be held liable for damages caused by snow movement. If the damage is caused by actual impact with the snowplow or grader blade, Turtle Lake Township is liable.
